Fees
When completing the following application you will be asked to indicate if you wish for your child to be considered for a full-fee paying place and/or for financial assistance via a Bursary Award. Please note that it is permissible to apply for both a Bursary award and a full-fee paying place.
Full fee-paying place: This is the normal method of entry to the College where the fees are paid in full by the pupil’s family.
Financial assistance: Financial assistance (a Bursary Award) is available from Robert Gordon’s College (RGC) and Aberdeen Endowments Trust (AET). Applications for financial assistance are means-tested, and if you wish to apply for financial support, you will be asked to provide information and supporting evidence regarding your household (and/or families’) household income(s). Please note that families with an annual total income in excess of £80,000 are unlikely to receive support. Families that have recently experienced a significant reduction in total household income are encouraged to apply. Robert Gordon’s College and AET work together to ensure that families are allocated the maximum assistance for which they are eligible. If you are eligible for financial assistance, support will be provided by only one organisation.
Robert Gordon’s College and AET Bursary Awards
Bursary Awards are based on both good performance in the Entrance Assessment and the financial circumstances of the family. Robert Gordon’s College Bursary Awards are for six years. Awards from AET are for five years and will normally be extended for a sixth year. If awarded a Bursary from either organisation, the family’s financial circumstances will be reviewed throughout the duration of the award, and these reviews may result in a change in the proportion of the fees met by RGC and/or AET, if a significant change in family financial situation has occurred. Information on household income from all sources and assets is used to determine the financial assistance offered towards fees.
Bursary applicants may be invited to attend an interview by the College or by AET.
Financial assistance of up to 100% tuition fee reduction is available. Families will usually be responsible for ancillary costs (e.g. uniform, iPad, compulsory residential trips etc.) which are estimated to be £2,500 – £3,000 annually.
