Statement of Financial Circumstances for S1 Bursary Application (Help with Fees)

The Bursary Programme and Statement of Financial Circumstances

You are required to complete the Statement of Financial Circumstances if you would like your child to be considered for a Bursary Award (Help with Fees). A Bursary Award is usually applied for if you feel that your family is not able to pay the costs (fees and additional costs) of your child attending Robert Gordon’s College.

The Bursary Programme is highly competitive and each year there are more applications than the number of Awards available. Within the Bursary Programme, both full and partial Bursary Awards are granted. A full Award would mean that your family does not pay tuition fees, although in many cases, you would still be responsible for all additional costs (e.g. iPad, books, uniform, trips, etc which are estimated to be £2,500 – £3,000 annually). A partial Award would mean that your family is required to pay some of the annual tuition fees (dependent on the level of partial Award granted) and all additional costs (e.g. iPad, books, uniform, trips, etc which are estimated to be £2,500 – £3,000 annually). If your child is offered either a full or partial Bursary Award, you should carefully consider your financial circumstances and affordability of the remaining costs.

We strongly encourage you to read the Bursary FAQs and the College website to learn more.

Completing an application for a Bursary Award (Help with Fees)

A Bursary Application (Help with Fees) is only complete once the S1 Application form and Statement of Financial Circumstances have been satisfactorily completed and received by the College by the required deadline (12 noon Thursday 12 December 2024 for entry in August 2025).

Applying for a fee paying place if your child is not awarded a Bursary

In the following form, you will be asked if you would like for your child to be considered for a fee paying place if they are not awarded a Bursary (Help with Fees). A fee paying place means that your family will pay all costs (tuition fees and additional costs) of enrolment. Indicating that you would like your child to be considered for a fee paying place will not disadvantage their Bursary application.

If your child’s Bursary application is not successful and you ask for them to be considered for a fee paying place, we will consider their academic achievement in the entrance assessment. A fee paying place may be offered or your child may be allocated to a waiting list for entry.
